New Jersey "Net Zero" Building, first in US

The Ferreira Construction Headquarters located in Branchburg, New Jersey is the first net zero commercial building in the United States. The 42,000 sf building is highly efficient and produces all of it's own power through 1,276 solar panels which can develop in excess of 200kW of electrical energy. The system is a "smart" system which monitors and adjusts its self to perform at peak capacity. The system even delivers power back to the grid. The retrofitted building opened in 2006 and just received the 2007 New Jersey Clean Energy Leadership Award for Market Innovator from Governor Corzine
