Kuwaitis Plan to Smash the Worlds Tallest Building Record

Back in July the yet uncompleted Burj Dubai, or Dubai Tower, took the title of worlds tallest free standing building from Taipei 101. Then in September it overtook the CN Tower as the worlds tallest free standing structure at 1,853 ft. high (564.9 m) with 152 completed floors and still climbing to a still undisclosed final height. Anywho, Kuwait Municipal announce today that they will not be out done by their neighbors by approving plans to build the 1001 meter high tower, Burj Mubarak Al-Kabir. The BMAK will be about 200 meters taller than Burj Dubai and nearly 500 meters taller than Taipei 101.

The project includes a 200-hectare natural desert reservation, airport, business centre, and commercial, industrial, educational and entertainment centers. What's the estimated price tag on this puppy? $86 billion.
