Beale Air Force Base Using State of the Art Groundwater Treatment

Beale Air Force Base in California is using biostimulation and bioaugmentation to treat contaminated groundwater at 2 different sites. These natural processes allow the groundwater to be treated in the ground by feeding existing microorganisms (biostimulation)and introducing new bacteria (bioaugmentation) to break down the contaminates. The efficiency of bringing the treatment to the contaminate over traditional pump and treat methods is expected to reduce the length of the treatment program by a factor of 6!
